Warm greetings to all!

I am humbled and honoured by the opportunity to serve as President of the Society of Onco-Anaesthesia and Perioperative Care (SOAPC).

I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for bestowing this honour upon me. It gave me a great sense of responsibility to serve this most vibrant and dynamic society. The task of leading this illustrious society is colossal, as my predecessors have raised the bar very high.

SOAPCis one-of-its-kind society globally, representing anaesthesiologists working in this niche area of Onco-Anaesthesia and Perioperative care. It was started in 2018 in Mumbai with very few members under the able guidance of Dr. J.V. Divatia, who was also the founder President. Thereafter in next 4 years, the number of members have increased to 241 now and is ever-growing.

To keep up the vision of SOAPC, we shall continueall academic endeavours, which have already been started,such as SOAPC fellowship programs, regular academic webinars in more organised way. We also plan to constitute a committee dedicated for the purpose of research and to start a National OncoAnaesthesia registry database.

I also invite all perioperative physicians in all dedicated cancer hospitals and cancer units to come forward and be a part this unique society.

I am hopeful to attain a greater height with the combined effort of all learned, enthusiastic and able governing council members and also all my fellow SOAPC members.
